German Sparkassenstiftung für international Kooperation has a partnership project with the Ghana Association of Microfinance Institutions Network (GHAMFIN) and the Ghana Co-operative Credit Union Association (CUA). The overall goal of the partnership is to “Strengthening Co-operative Credit Unions and other Microfinance Institutions in providing financial services in Ghana”.

Job Description

• Reports directly to: Regional Coordinator


• Location: workstation is Accra with frequent travels within Ghana

PURPOSE OF ROLE/POSITION SUMMARY 

The Business Coach provides high quality training and coaching to entrepreneurs and business owners by analysing situations and educating clients regarding business plans and management, market feasibility and finance. 

SCOPE OF WORK

• Organising and training of SMEs coaching. 


• Providing resources and information on how to start or grow businesses, how to access procurement opportunities and getting registered to do business in Ghana. 


• Assisting businesses in the developing business, marketing, and financial plans and creation of marketing materials, recordkeeping systems and other tools necessary to small businesses. 


• Mentoring and coaching prospective business entrepreneurs to understand how to manage business crisis and operations, and how to monitor business Profit and ROI.


• Constantly review the training intervention strategies of the project to ensure informed decisions on required adjustments and modifications that can be made by the stakeholders in charge in a timely manner.


• Where appropriate, closely liaise on the implementation of the training project activities with the other two projects of Sparkassenstiftung Ghana (the Regional Project Ghana and the Returnee/Migration Project Ghana).

Required Skills or Experience

Applicants for this position should possess the following qualification, professional experiences, and soft skills:

• Tertiary education (preferred majors may include business, marketing, accounting, communications, finance or management). An MBA in any of these fields is mandatory. 


• Minimum of 10 years of proven work experience in the financial industry of Ghana (SME sector and commercial banks).


• Minimum of 10 years of proven experience in adult education, in-service staff training and SME & business coaching.


• Must have experience in running a business and knowledge and in-depth understanding of the entrepreneurship landscape in Ghana. 


• Fluent in English and additional Ghanaian languages such as Twi, Fante, GA, Ewe, Hausa


• German language will be an added advantage.


• Confident user of the MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
