By sharing scientific expertise and providing technical support and leadership, USP helps local regulators improve and sustain local health systems and enables manufacturers to supply quality-assured essential medicines for years to come. Through these efforts, USP is able to help detect and identify poor quality health products in disease areas such as HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria and neglected tropical diseases, as well as helping safeguard the maternal, newborn, and child health sectors.




Job Description


USP Ghana (one of the global USP sites) is seeking to contract the services of a certified IT Management Systems vendor to provide IT Management Systems Support for the administrative operations and technical operations (testing laboratory operations) of the Ghana site.



Scope of Work / Responsibilities




  • Management and maintenance of USP Ghana’s ICT infrastructure and LAN (audiovisual, routers and switches & telephony)

  • Preventative Maintenance for IT equipment

  • Management and maintenance of Audio/Web/Video Conferencing systems and licenses

  • Implementation of USP’s ICT policies and strategy

  • Implementation of USP’s ICT Security Policy

  • Provide local support for USP IT help-desk reporting system

  • Provide support for development of USP Ghana annual ICT budget

  • Management and maintenance of USP Ghana servers and associated software licenses

  • Smart Boards maintenance and software licenses

  • Provision of PC/laptop maintenance support (including PCs/laptops connected to laboratory equipment)

  • Laboratory data storage & back-up procedure

  • Remote Back-up (Cloud) for USP Ghana laboratory data

  • Execution of Disaster Recovery Plan

  • Provide dedicated (full-time) on-site ICT personnel

  • Out-of-hours cover and support

  • Operational management/reports on Access control Included

  • Remote support, setup & service (optional)



Period of Performance




  • The initial anticipated period of performance will begin from July 1, 2021 and run through June 30, 2022 with the option for annual renewal / renegotiation.

  • The maximum period of performance for this contract is anticipated to begin in July 2021 and run through June 2024.
