Vacancy: Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

• Report to farm manager


• Responsible for the installation and test run of all poultry farm and mechanical equipment


• Responsible for measuring the performance of mechanical components, devices and engines including but not limited to the manure cleaning system, pumps, vent fans, feeding systems, drinking system and all other mechanical and technical equipment on the site.


• Agreeing budgets, timescales, and specifications with managers


• Maintaining and modifying equipment to ensure that it is safe, reliable, and efficient always


• Drawing up maintenance schedule for all equipment on the farm


• Liaising with suppliers


• Undertaking relevant research on latest technology on poultry equipment


• Producing and implementing designs and test procedures


• Testing, evaluating, modifying, and re-testing products


• Writing reports and documentation


• Providing technical advice


• Analysing and interpreting data


• And such other duties that may be required of the farm manager and employer from time to time

Required Skills or Experience

• Must possess a degree in mechanical engineering


• Must have a minimum of a year's experience in a similar field


• Must have knowledge about poultry farm machines and equipment
