Total Family Health Organisation (TFHO) is an indigenous Ghanaian social marketing organization duly registered in accordance with the laws of Ghana on February 1, 2017. We partner with government, private sector, and civil society is to improve the health of people living in Ghana primarily through implementation of innovative evidence-based interventions that increases access to and utilization of health products and services in a measurable and impactful way. Our key intervention areas include: Reproductive (including family planning and HIV), Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health (RMNCH), communicable and non-communicable diseases, Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), nutrition, and malaria. Social and Behavioral Change Communication (SBCC) and social marketing remains our unique expertise. We utilize our deep insight and skills in SBCC and social marketing to promote positive social and behavior change among individuals and communities using strategies that address the interests of the people we are trying to reach, the obstacles to change and the many forces that influence behavior and choice.

Request for Proposals

Overview of Activity

TFHO is searching for a consultant to serve as technical writer and developer of a publishable research manuscript. This manuscript will be presented to three (3) high quality reputable peer-reviewed international journals.  TFHO will supply the consultant with the necessary data set (qualitative or quantitative) for onward analysis and manuscript drafting. Also, all protocols and requisite documentation submitted by TFHO to the Ghana Health Service Ethics Review Committee (GHSERC) shall be provided to the consultant. All data submitted shall be the proprietary property of the USAID Ghana Health Marketing Activity.

Main deliverables

• The write-up and delivery of a high-quality manuscript (in English) polished editorially and rigorous in terms of evidence-base, sources, and citations.


• Interim drafts shall be presented to TFHO via regular update calls and meetings.


• Recommend to TFHO and submit manuscript to at three (3) reputable peer-reviewed journals.


• Lead in any manuscript revisions per journal guidelines and feedback.

Required Skills or Experience

• Proven record as lead author, researcher and technical coordinator of major international publications and reports.


• At least 8 years of solid experience, technical specialization and proven experience working on international development and public health issues with emphasis on social and behavior change.


• Excellent writing skills in English, proven research analytical skills and ability to synthesize research findings from diverse materials and sources.
