Vacancy: Financial Accountant

Job Description

The Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana is looking for dynamic, well-organized, qualified result-oriented and Practicing Christians to fill the following positions: Financial Accountant

Purpose

To support the Director of Finance (DoF) in carrying out the financial administration of the Church

            

Duties

• Supervise the accounts team in the discharge of their duties


• Drive the budget preparation and compilation process


• Lead the budgetary control process


• Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations in the overall operation of the financial administration of the Church


• Responsible for fixed assets management


• Supervise the treasury function


• General ledger management including balance sheet reconciliation


• Financial statements preparation


• Liaise with external auditors to ensure timely completion of statutory audits


• Any other duties as may be assigned by DoF

Required Skills or Experience

• Must hold a minimum of BSc. Degree in Accountancy plus part two of either CA or ACCA with


• Three to five years relevant practical experience.


• Must have evidence of completing National Service.

           

Knowledge, experience and relevant skills set

• Good command over English Language with good report writing skills


• Be committed to meeting deadlines


• Multi-tasking and work well under pressure


• Understand and demonstrate good grasp of double-entry system


• Understand the tax system of Ghana and be able to compute relevant statutory deductions


• Must be numerate and computer literate with good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.


• Be familiar with QuickBooks accounting software


• Be a team player
