The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) seeks to recruit a National Partner Coordinator under the Accelerating Impact of CGIAR Climate Research in Africa (AICCRA) - Ghana Cluster Project.



The Position

The successful candidate will support the Project Lead to Oversee and coordinate national partners engagement for AICCRA-Ghana, including CABI and NIBIO throughout project life.



Primary Responsibilities




  • Implement M&E activities for the project, particularly with regard to WB reporting needs and schedule for project deliverables. 

  • Project Focal Point for Environmental & Social Safeguards

  • Underpin national partners workplan and budget development.

  • Coordinate national partners and CABI and NIBIO inputs/reporting into MARLO.

  • Monitor fund disbursement and project expenditures by national partners in close collaboration with IITA-Ghana accountant.

  • Coordinate AICCRA-Ghana project logistics (e.g., local travel, procurement) and organize physical meetings/trainings in Ghana in close collaboration with IITA admin.

  • Coordinate communication between AICCRA-Ghana team and partners on the ground.

  • Coordinate field work/visits and travels of AICCRA-Ghana team to project sites.

  • Prepare and implement communication plans for AICCRA-Ghana visibility both in Ghana and on social media and organize project awareness campaigns.

  • Report to IITA Country Rep and to AICCRA-Ghana Project Leader. 




Required Skills or Experience


Educational Qualifications 




  • The candidate should have Master’s Degree in Project Management, Agric-Economics, Economics, Statistics, or a related field with

  • at least five (5) years’ experience working on a similar project in a well-structured environment or donor-funded organization. 



Core Competencies 




  • Technical expertise in managing and developing Monitoring & Evaluation systems, including the theory of change and results-based management

  • Experience in managing scientists/teams for deliverables and milestones on time and within budget

  • Good organizational skills and a high level of efficiency in work processes. 

  • Experience working with Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning platform. 

  • Good knowledge of financial planning, management and reporting

  • Excellent quantitative skills, including advanced proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel and other project management software

  • Ability to work with a range of national partners. 

  • Highly motivated, innovative, adaptable, and able to work independently. 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. A working knowledge of French will be an added advantage
