Vacancy: Quality Control Supervisor

Job Description

To organize the correct and accurate monitoring of the milling process to ensure the production of high quality Crude Palm Oil and Palm Kernel and to monitor quality of water used for Boiler, Domestic and Recreational purposes for conformity with approved standards.

The Quality Control Supervisor will report to the Production Superintendent and the responsibilities for the position include but are not limited to:

• Organize regular analysis of all FFB being delivered to the Oil Mill;


• Measure palm oil and palm kernel oil losses in waste products at various stages of the Milling process;


• Check regularly the quality of palm oil, palm kernel oil and other by-products for conformity with approved PSG’s standards;


• Supervise inspection and loading of palm oil and palm kernel oil in conformity with PSG’s standard operating procedures;


• Ensure daily stock taking of palm oil and palm kernel oil in storage tanks;


• Ensure that all storage tanks for palm oil and palm kernel oil are well secured at all times;


• Ensure periodic cleaning of storage tanks as agreed by Mill management;  


• Ensure that protective equipment issued to workers are used at all times for the purposes for which they were issued;            


• Test Boiler water samples as per approved routines by Mill management;


• Monitor and ensure timely stocking of boiler water chemicals regularly;


• Accurately keep all Mill Laboratory records for ease of reference; and


• Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Required Skills or Experience

The successful applicant must possess Bsc. in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or its equivalent with 5 years professional work experience in Palm Oil Processing Mill with at least 3 years recent experience in a similar role
