OVERVIEW



One of the fastest growing technology companies in Africa focused on the logistics/ supply chain is looking to employ a Finance Manager to work with immediately.



WHAT YOU WILL DO




  1. Engage executive management to develop short, medium, and long-term financial plans and projections.

  2. Establish individual and department goals and define performance evaluation metrics against those goals.

  3. Develop, interpret and implement accounting policy and procedures to ensure corporate and relevant regulatory reporting requirements are met.

  4. Establish the appropriate internal control environment across the organisation’s operations to safeguard the assets of the organisation and meet government or contractor requirements.

  5. Develop and utilise financial models and activity-based financial analysis to provide a basis for investment decisions and business planning.

  6. Develop and maintain a system of appropriate financial policies, procedures and controls to ensure efficient financial management.

  7. Direct and control the efforts of the finance team to ensure timely and accurate General Ledger, department financial statements, and management reports.

  8. Review and recommend changes to the general ledger portion of the chart of accounts to assure proper classification of accounts.

  9. Review and recommend changes to management reports generated by the general ledger and other accounting systems.

  10. Review periodic financial reports submitted by the team and present reports to management.

  11. Lead the preparation of the organisation’s financial reports and statutory reporting process.

  12. Oversee the preparation of regular financial accounts and management accounts.

  13. Oversee third-party payments to ensure that such payments are in accordance with service level agreements.

  14. Liaise with Tax Authorities, Auditors and other Regulatory bodies as regards preparation and filing of the Audited Financials and other Tax related matters.

  15. Ensure prompt remittance and various statutory deductions VAT, PAYE, CIT, Pension Fund etc.

  16. Oversee the preparation and communication of timely, accurate, and useful financial and management reports for investors/lending institutions and management on a periodic and /or ad-hoc basis.

  17. Provide technical training, guidance and advice on financial accounting issues, developments and trends to other business or departmental heads.

  18. Advise executive management on changes in financial regulations, legislation and government tariffs.

  19. Liaise with statutory auditors to discuss and resolve queries as they arise to ensure seamless audit exercise.

  20. Develop and manage relationships with relevant external bodies / contacts e.g. regulatory organisations auditors, solicitors, banks etc.

  21. Manage organisation’s treasury assets to achieve optimal sourcing, application and growth of funds.

  22. Create a positive work environment that allows exchange of ideas across all cadres within the team.

  23. Manage and oversee team’s performance through direction setting, supervision and performance evaluation

  24. Provide strong direction and leadership, ensuring clear strategic objectives are in place to guide the work of the department.




Required Skills or Experience



  • Minimum of 8 years’ relevant experience with at least 3 years in a managerial level of an organisation preferably logistics & supply chain/ FMCG

  • Experience of statutory financial reporting requirements and knowledge of GAAP, IFRS

  • Previous experience in a similar industry is an added advantage.
