A reputable local NGO operating in northern Ghana is seeking dynamic professionals to be recruited for the under-listed job vacancies within the USAID-funded Ghana Market Systems Resilience (MSR) Project in northern Ghana.



PROJECT OVERVIEW

The Ghana Market Systems and Resilience Activity (MSR) is a five-year USAID-funded follow-on project to USAID/Ghana ADVANCE II. MSR will leverage over a decade of experience linking smallholders to markets, inputs, and services in Ghana. The project will strengthen commercial relationships between market actors, improve the rural entrepreneurship ecosystem to enable greater market participation, particularly for women and youth, expand the availability of agribusiness services, and link targeted policy initiatives to improved local economic governance. These activities will result in competitive, stronger, and more resilient markets, thus increasing inclusive agriculture-led economic growth in northern Ghana.



Position:Office Manager / Accountant



​Reports to: Regional Manager, Finance Manager and Admin & HR Manager




  • Counterparts: MSR and Local NGO Management, Technical, Finance and Administrative Staff

  • Responsible to: Admin & HR Manager of the Local NGO

  • Job Location: Wa, Ghana



 


Summary of Responsibilities


The Office Manager / Accountant shall organize and coordinate office administration and procedures, in order to ensure organizational effectiveness, efficiency, and safety. He / She is responsible for developing intra-office communication protocols, streamlining administrative procedures, inventory control, office staff supervision, and task delegation. 


 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


He / She shall:



  1. Manage all financial transactions, and record all transactions.

  2. Manage all internal accounting functions including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and account reconciliation utilizing Tally accounting software, QuickBooks.

  3. Ensure financial, administrative and HR compliance with relevant policy guidelines.

  4. Maintain employee records.

  5. Administer the attendance and leave of absence policies





Required Skills or Experience



  • Minimum of HND Accounting.

  • At least 5 years accounting and office management experience.

  • Excellent knowledge of accounting disciplines and principles to perform accounting duties and operations. 

  • Strong computer skills (word-processing, excel, spread-sheets).

  • Proficiency in any accounting software; but preferably Tally ES accounting software.

  • Sociable, dynamic, energetic and organized.

  • Demonstrated capacity to work independently.
