Job Description





  • Project Or Division: Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH)


  • Reports To: Regional Quality Control Manager (RQCM)


  • Location: Based in Techiman, with frequent day and/or overnight travel to rural areas across the Ashanti and Bono Regions. & Based in Ho, with frequent day and/or overnight travel to rural areas across the Volta and Oti Regions


Purpose 




  • The Quality Control Manager (QCM) oversees all activities in relation to onboarding TBOs into the supply chain, and the quality of toilet deliveries including; planning and organizing production schedules, forecasting resource requirements, estimating, negotiating and agreeing budgets and timelines with managers and concrete producers. They are also responsible for recruiting Quality Control Coordinators (QCCs) and conducting regular quality audits.


Report Relationships




  • Reports directly to the Regional Quality Control Manager (RQCM)

  • Quality Control Coordinators (QCC) as direct reports.


Core Responsibilities- Modifications may be made at any time




  • Oversee, refine and improve all production processes

  • Monitor product standards and implement quality-control programmes 

  • Identify and recruit potential TBOs

  • Responsible for onboarding and training of new toilet businesses and facilitating refresher training for existing TBOs 

  • Identify training needs and develop training models for TBOs

  • Manage quality controls and implementation

  • Ensuring that environmental, health and safety regulations are met

  • Develop operation and routine maintenance schedule for TBO’s

  • Develop appropriate manuals for installation, usage, production and fabrications

  • Planning and organising production schedules

  • Designing gender-sensitive products and services that fit into the WASH portfolio 

  • Develop an abridged version of the environmental regulatory policy specific to toilet products to guide QCC to implement on-site 

  • Facilitate periodic refresher training and develop template to report on all environmental issues that emerge before, during and post installatio


 




Required Skills or Experience




  • Graduated from university with degree in Mechanical, Civil or Process and Production Engineering

  • At least 5 years work experience in product design and /or manufacturing.

  • Experience working in rural areas and with rural communities is an asset

  • Knowledge of WASH and/or user centred design methodologies is an asset

  • Excellent spoken and written English

  • Fluency in Twi, Bono, and Hausa, Ewe and Twi or any other languages from the Vota and Oti

  • Holds a Valid License and Capability to ride a Motorbike

  • Microsoft Word and Excel
