Job Description


The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for promoting the business across all product lines to all customers and contribute to new customers and new business development by ensuring that operations between technical and non-technical departments run smoothly, with an efficient flow of information.



He/she will also be providing guidance and assistance in the logistics processes to ensure that all procurement of goods and services in the business across all activities and departments meet the standards of quality, quantity, time, price, and place. The role reports to the Country Manager



Key responsibilities:




  • Responsible for procurement process, from researching prices to implementing and monitoring orders to the receipt of goods and products.

  • Able to manage the administrative, legal and customs formalities related to procurement.

  • Manage inventory, monitor stock, track payments to suppliers and prepares quotes where required.

  • Able to complete logistics and supply chain function such as source, negotiate the best pricing from local and foreign suppliers.

  • Provide and obtain freight estimates from various freight forwarding companies and select the best solution, price, and option.

  • Track consignments and ensure consignments are delivered to the required time.

  • Coordinate with the invoicing team for quotations and with stores' team regarding deliveries.

  • Clear consignments, including calculations of customs duty, clearing and freight portions to determine landed percentages.

  • Able to evaluate logistics performance and plan for improvement of logistics processes.

  • Process intercompany purchase orders and manage periodic (weekly) stock audits and yearly stock audits with your Line Supervisor.

  • Responsible for planning vehicle movement routes to all other countries.

  • Assist with outgoing stock to on-site depots, workshops, and complete general weekly reports.




Required Skills or Experience


The candidate must have:




  • At least three (3) years’ experience in a similar role

  • Proficiency in use of MS Excel (Vlookup), MS Word, Outlook, and relevant computer applications

  • Knowledge in Sage Evolution software to analyze inventory, manage stock levels, usage, movement, min/max stock levels, cost & selling prices, and generate reports and purchase orders.

  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy

  • Ability to build strong business relationships with suppliers, clearing agents, and freight forwarding companies 

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Excellent report writing skills, analytical, assertive, and reliable

  • Ability to work on own initiative and at long periods

  • Ability to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines

  • A team player, confident self-starter and culturally sensitive

  • Strong interpersonal skills, flexible and proactive approach to work



Qualifications:




  • First Degree/Higher National Diploma in Supply Chain Management

  • Proven knowledge of procurement and logistics

  • Other professional qualifications, ideally in Project Management
