An environmental training institution that promotes a sustainable approach to development through research, training, technical assistance, capacity building and advocacy seeks a Sales Executive.



The focus of the Institution is in providing training to professionals in natural resources and environmental management; Social and environmental risk management; public policy; social equity; climate change; mining; agriculture and food security; energy; sustainable business; and sustainable economic growth and poverty reduction.



Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for sales and enrolment of students. He/She should be result-oriented, able to meet deadlines, able to initiate and close sales. He/She will be responsible for developing and executing the organisation’s sales strategy while promoting relations with current and prospective clients.



Responsibilities



The responsibilities of the successful candidate will be:




  1. Increase students enrolment through sales of Institutional programmes

  2. Develop and implement the organisation’s sales strategy

  3. Ability to achieve set sales target

  4. Promoting products and services to clients

  5. Negotiate contracts with the aim of maximising profits

  6. Meeting with clients both  virtually and during sales visits

  7. Establishing new business

  8. Maintaining accurate records on customer sales

  9. Attending trade exhibitions, conferences and meetings

  10. Reviewing sales performance

  11. Monitor sales promotions performance and provide the necessary advice to enhance results

  12. Be responsible for developing all external communication materials/documents

  13. Prepare all Sales promotional materials

  14. Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, and merchandising techniques.

  15. Giving sales presentations to a range of prospective clients.

  16. Coordinating sales efforts with marketing programs.

  17. Understanding and promoting company programs.

  18. Carry out ad-hoc assignments as and when required




Required Skills or Experience


A minimum of four years relevant experience in working in a professional training institution or relevant field and at least, a first degree in marketing, business management, communication, or related degree. A Chartered Institute of Marketing professional certificate or similar professional marketing/communication certificate will be an advantage.

  • Strong Sales development and strategy skills

  • Understanding of the activities of a training institution

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Excellent presentation skills

  • Self-starter

  • Proven experience in sales, communication and/or customer engagement role

  • Understanding and experience in social media sales/marketing

  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office

  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills

  • Outstanding team building, interpersonal, and networking skills

  • Creativity, innovation and ability to take initiative

  • Excellent understanding and appreciation of sustainable development issues
