The Planned Parenthood Association of Ghana (PPAG) is a voluntary, not for profit organization that undertakes advocacy and service delivery in Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) in Ghana.  PPAG is a Member Association (MA) of the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF).  It is governed by respectable volunteers who are the members of the Association. The Governing body, formulate policies which are implemented by staff.




Job Description



TOR For recruitment and engagement of a consultant to lead the development of integrated CSE/SGBV/Gender and SRHR Facilitation materials for young people



Introduction

Following the successful selection of its IPs for the 7th Country Programme, UNFPA is supporting PPAG to implement part of its Child Marriage programme intervention in a number of Districts across Ghana. The Child Marriage Programme among others is expected to empower adolescent girls at risk of or affected by child marriage and other harmful practices as well as boys with appropriate SRHR information with particular focus on SGBV, gender norms, empowerment and rights among others.



To do this effectively, PPAG seeks to engage the services of a consultant to engage with key stakeholders to develop an integrated CSE/SGBV/Gender and SRHR Facilitation guide/manual that adequately integrates SRHR, SGBV and Gender norms in a simplified and practical way for USE BY YOUNG PEOPLE IN THE DELIVERY OF CSE AMONG THEIR PEERS.



Expected Outputs
The consultant, when recruited and engaged will be expected to achieve the following;




  1. Facilitate a materials development meeting with selected project staff, young people, stakeholders and UNFPA to solicit ideas and build consensus on what the content should be and the format and nature of the facilitation guide for the Sista’s CSE sessions

  2. Develop, based on available appropriate materials including the KnowItOwnItLiveIt, the proposed CSE facilitators session manual for the agreed content integrating issues on Child marriage, SGBV, Gender norms and key ASRHR issues with demonstration an illustration content and procedures

  3. Facilitate a pre-testing and validation meeting to validate and  finalize the proposed material and its format

  4. Submit a final developed CSE facilitator’s manual/guide for Child Marriage focused intervention.  


Time Line

The consultant has a total of 35 Days to ensure the completion of the assignment to the point of submitting the final approved facilitator’s manual/guide. A workable schedule of activities for this period will be developed and agreed upon by the consultant and PPAG youth programme coordinator with inputs from UNFPA Focal Person for Child Marriage programme.



Fees

PPAG will negotiate with consultant and upon agreement, pay the consultant fees for the execution of the assignment. Payment will be made in two instalment. First instalment of 60% will be paid five working days after submission of signed contract and submission of inception report by the consultant. The remaining 40% will be paid to the consultant five working days after submission of the final approved facilitator’s manual/guide.



 Termination of contract.

PPAG reserves the right to terminate the contract and request refund of payments made to consultant if, during the period of implementation any of the following occurs;




  1. Consultant fails to turn-up for any of the consultative meetings without prior notice and appropriate arrangements made to facilitate the process

  2. Consultant fails to deliver the product as per the agreed time table without any formal consultations with PPAG.

  3. Consultant submits work but does not meet the expected standard or output

  4. Consultant decides to abandon the contract.


Contract Life Period

This contract will last for a period of 35 days and will take effect on the day the agreement is signed between PPAG and the consultant.




Required Skills or Experience




  • The expected consultant must be a well experienced in the field of gender-responsive adolescent and youth sexual and reproductive health, materials development and sexuality education approach and pedagogy.

  • Both academic and professional experience at the graduate level with demonstrated experience is required.

  • When submitting the bid, potential consultants should include samples of work done in the recent past in PDF formats
