Vacancy: Project Officer

Job Description

• Position Reports to: Project Manager


• Authorized to liaise with: Clients, Suppliers, Subcontractors, regulatory bodies, local communities, others necessities to achieve contract objectives

Job Role

• The Purpose of this role is to to oversee the operations of projects, hire the necessary crew members, manage supplies, update management on progress, and implement procedures to adhere to building and safety codes

Key Responsibilities

• Developing, maintaining and monitoring project plans and project schedules


• Coordination and follow-up of project tasks and actions.


• Checking plans, drawings and quantities for accuracy.


• Ensuring all materials used and works performed are as per specifications.


• Overseeing the selection and requisition of materials and plant.


• Ensuring quality assurance and control on site.


• Day-to-day management of the site, including supervising and monitoring the site labor force and the work of any subcontractor.


• Planning site work efficiently and in an organized manner to meet agreed deadlines.


• Overseeing site health and safety matters.


• Preparing reports as required.


• Resolving any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise

Job Location

• Residence in Tamale is preferred but not a prerequisite. Construction site is located in Northern Region

Required Skills or Experience

• Minimum HND/ Certificate in Project Management, Civil Engineering or related discipline.


• Member of relevant Professional Body.


• Minimum three (3) years in site supervisory role for construction projects.


• Ability to manage and coordinate site activities to meet project deadlines whilst maintaining quality of works
