Job Description

The Nursing Assistant (NA) is responsible for assisting the nurse in the delivery of patient care, transporting patient and/or equipment, setting up and maintaining patient rooms, and the reordering and stocking of supplies. The Nursing Assistant does not work autonomously but works under the direction of a professional nurse. May be given a patient care assignment based on unit needs and the discretion of the manager/charge nurse.

The NA will:

• Provides basic patient care


• Assists RN in monitoring patient condition by accurately taking vital signs, recording weights, measuring input/output, and recording oxygen saturation levels.


• Reports unusual findings to the RN in a timely manner


• Transports patients, equipment, and supplies


• Prepares rooms for admissions


• Stocks supplies, organizes patient/unit areas, and cleans equipment

Required Skills or Experience

• Position requires high school diploma or equivalent and valid Medical Assistant or CNA certification preferred.


• Prefer previous experience in a clinic setting.


• Position requires candidates to demonstrate they are a motivated individual who can multi-task with good time management and organization skills.
