Working across 23 countries in sub-Saharan Africa as well as Cambodia, the U.S. President’s Malaria Initiative (PMI) VectorLink Project is equipping countries to plan and implement safe, cost-effective, and sustainable life-saving malaria vector control interventions with the overall goal of reducing the burden of malaria. Specifically, the PMI VectorLink Project will build the capacity of country governments to use epidemiological, entomological, and coverage data to support the optimal deployment of vector control tools within each country context while promoting gender equity in all facets of planning and implementation. 



We are looking for four (4) Short-term Finance Assistants based in Accra to support PMI Vector Link’s Insecticide Treated Net (ITN) distribution work. The Finance Assistants will support processing of payments for the implementation of the 2023 school ITN distribution in 15 regions. The positions require candidates with strong finance and accounting background. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated the ability to capture, review and process payments especially via mobile money. 



Responsibilities




  • Capture ITN distribution training participants data and input on required disbursement templates and ensure accuracy and correctness of data captured.

  • Review participants payment/contact details with telecommunication network service providers to ensure accuracy of payment/contact details.

  • Prepare payment vouchers with adequate supporting documentation, compliant with USAID regulations and PSI Ghana policies.

  • Prepare daily and weekly disbursement reports on transaction processing.

  • Conduct daily and weekly reconciliation and submit reconciliation reports for review and approval.

  • Follow up on outstanding payments to all ITN participants to ensure completeness of the transaction processing cycle.

  • Ensure proper filing of all training documents for Finance, Compliance and M&E use.

  • Serve as liaison between Field ITN Training Coordinators and PSI Ghana Finance team to ensure seamless flow of information and transaction processing. 

  • Respond to questions and resolve all transaction processing complaints and disputes from field.

  • Follow up on ITN Training Coordinators to ensure that all logistical arrangements are in place prior to the commencement of trainings.

  • Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the team members.



Deliverables




  • Verbal briefings and debriefings with PMI VectorLink finance team, as requested.

  • Daily, weekly, and monthly reports submitted in line with agreed reporting schedule




Required Skills or Experience


The basics:




  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting with at least 2 years of additional relevant experience.

  • A demonstrated knowledge in processing of large-scale transactions on virtual/online platforms. 

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.

  • Strong multitasking skills and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

  • Fluency in English.

  • Exceptional attention to details.
