Job Summary


We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Supply Chain Specialist to join our team. As a Supply Chain Specialist, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end supply chain operations related to our laboratory equipment. You will collaborate with suppliers, logistics partners, and internal teams to ensure efficient procurement, inventory management, and order fulfilment. Your expertise in supply chain management and your ability to streamline processes will be crucial in ensuring smooth operations and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities



  • Manage the end-to-end supply chain operations for laboratory equipment, including procurement, inventory management, and order fulfilment.

  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery, quality control, and cost-effective sourcing of laboratory equipment.

  • Evaluate supplier performance and develop strong relationships to drive continuous improvement and maintain a reliable supply chain.

  • Monitor inventory levels, forecast demand, and coordinate with internal teams to optimize stock levels and avoid stockouts or overstock situations.

  • Coordinate with logistics partners to ensure efficient and timely transportation of products from suppliers to warehouses and customers.

  • Track and manage inbound and outbound shipments, including customs clearance, ensuring compliance with regulations and minimizing delays.

  • Analyze and optimize supply chain processes, identifying opportunities for cost reduction, efficiency improvement, and risk mitigation.

  • Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and report on supply chain performance, including supplier delivery performance, inventory turnover, and order fulfilment metrics.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, finance, and customer service, to align supply chain activities and meet customer requirements.

  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to suppliers, contracts, purchase orders, and logistics activities.

  • Participate in supplier selection and negotiation processes to secure competitive pricing, favourable terms, and quality assurance.

  • Monitor market trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes impacting the supply chain, and propose necessary adjustments or improvements.

  • Implement and maintain best practices, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and policies to ensure compliance and consistency in supply chain operations.

  • Resolve supply chain issues, such as product shortages, delivery delays, and quality concerns, in a timely and effective manner.

  • Stay updated on industry developments, emerging technologies, and best practices in supply chain management.




Required Skills or Experience



  • HND Purchasing & Supply or a related field.

  • Proven experience in supply chain management, preferably within the laboratory equipment or scientific industry.

  • Strong knowledge of supply chain principles, including procurement, inventory management, logistics, and supplier relationship management.

  • Proficiency in using supply chain management software, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, and data analysis tools.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and identify insights and improvement opportunities.

  • Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills to effectively collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

  • Understanding of customs regulations, international trade, and import/export procedures.

  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy in record-keeping and documentation.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

  • Knowledge of lean or continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.

  • Ability to adapt to changing business needs and work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

  • Continuous learning mind-set and eagerness to stay updated with industry trends and best practices.

  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to quality.
