Job Description

General Responsibility

• Transport assigned staff/work from designation to designation


• Perform work related errands


• Obey all traffic laws


• No driver will report to work or drive a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol


• Be at the work 15 minutes before departure of work hours, or before a field trip


• Be attentive to the traffic and weather conditions, stay on schedule and ensure the safety of passengers.


• Uphold a positive image of the company by applying good and safe driving habits


• Ensure that the vehicle is in good operating condition by testing the brakes, tires, lights and other components, complete the pre-trip inspection on a daily basis, and submit it to the Transport coordinator


• Ensure that the car is washed twice a week, inside and outside, and sweep the vehicle and empty the bins daily.


• Notify the fleet supervisor in case of mechanical failure or lateness


• Ensure all seatbelts are in working condition before leaving the premises


• Ensure that all passengers have their seatbelts fastened before moving the vehicle, and maintain rules of conduct, and respond to emergencies.


• Notify the fleet supervisor if there are any route deviations


• Transport only authorized staff


• Work overtime if required


• Report minor and major accidents and complete required reports


• Complete diesel and oil log when filling the vehicle with petrol


• Ensure that his license is valid at all times.


• Pay tolls and other fundamental vehicle demands


• Other duties as many be assigned


• Dress professionally and in accordance with company’s dress code.

Required Skills or Experience

• SHS


• 3 - 5 years related experience.


• Proven experience as a Driver with good driving skills


• Should possess a valid driver’s license and a clean traffic record.


• Good knowledge and understanding of traffic rules and road signs


• Ability to demonstrate sound judgement and great interpersonal skills


• Should be professional and exhibit integrity and trust


• Fluent in English (i.e., speaking, reading, and writing)


• Willing to work overtime, on weekends and on public holidays, as may be required


• Should possess excellent organizational and time management skills
