Job Purpose


To lead the Initiation and Development of new business opportunities for Fitzgerald-Bassey Consultancy Ltd


 


Responsibilities /Key Objectives



  • To lead Business Development by providing clear overall directions for new Business opportunities within the Fbassey Team. Prospect for potential clients in the Oil &Gas, Mining & Telecoms sectors whilst ensuring appropriate work planning, client engagement and relationship development to meet the Business development goals of the business

  • To provide overall leadership and management for the marketing of Mechanical Repairs & Operational items, RFQ’s, Business Process Outsourcing, Incubator Box and Tendering Services to our Tier 1 clients

  • Develop proposals that speak to client needs and setup meetings and presentations to deliver solutions to client organisations

  • To manage relationships with all internal and external stakeholders, working collaboratively and proactively with all cross functional teams in full partnership, to ensuring the organisation is reviewing and developing new business opportunities continually.

  • Build relationships with Procurement teams in the various industries to generate leads and convert into new business opportunities.

  • To work closely with client internal stakeholders to identify future business opportunities and put structures in place to fulfil those opportunities.

  • To undertake Supplier Relationship Management with key contractors in order to , to identify business opportunities and to manage risk. Maintain communication with customers and suppliers to provide advice on current and future requirements

  • Provide Strategic Leadership in Business Development and implement approved plans as agreed with Senior Management

Required Skills or Experience


Experience and Education:




  • Minimum 5 years relevant and evidenced experience.

  • Good knowledge of Business Development in the Oil & gas sector, mining , telecoms and any other relevant sectors

  • Experience of building & maintaining close working relations with key stakeholders in the procuring functions of targeted businesses

  • Experience in contractual negotiations

  • Developing business development strategies and leading the implementation of medium to large scale programmes

  • Experience of change management in complex multi-business unit environments

  • Previous experience of working in Supply Chain Team, preferably within an oil & gas, mining and construction environment 

  • Understanding of legal and commercial issues within supply chain

  • The following academic qualifications being advantageous;

  • Degree level in a business, engineering or management related subject  

  • Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (CIPS) or similar qualification or studying towards CIM/CIPS qualification would be beneficial.

  • Computer literate, with advanced Microsoft Office skills/abilities
