Architectural Design and Construction Consultancy Services for an Eco-Friendly Four-Story Office Building in Monrovia, Liberia.




Background


A reputable organization in Liberia seeks Expressions of Interest from qualified Architectural and Engineering firms with relevant professional backgrounds and proven track records in design and building consultancy services. We aim to create a modern, functional, and sustainable office space that fosters productivity, collaboration, and employee well-being. The new office building will accommodate our expanding workforce and symbolize our commitment to excellence and innovation. 

 


Objective


The primary objective of this project is to engage a qualified and experienced consultant to oversee and facilitate the design, architectural planning, structural drawings, and engineering services, including electrical and plumbing, for the construction of a cutting-edge and environmentally sustainable office building.

 


Scope of Services


The selected consultant will be responsible for delivering the following comprehensive range of services:


 


1. Architectural Design & Concept



  • Develop innovative and sustainable architectural designs that align with the project objectives.

  • Ensure the integration of eco-friendly elements into the building's structure.



2. Structural Drawings



  • Produce detailed structural drawings that adhere to safety and building code regulations.

  • Provide specifications for structural materials and components.



3. Engineering Services (Electrical and Plumbing)



  • Design electrical systems that prioritize energy efficiency, safety, and reliability. 

  • Create plumbing systems that maximize water conservation and resource efficiency.

  • Design energy-efficient heating and cooling systems with sufficient ventilation and natural lighting. 



4. Construction Supervision



  • Advise on the bidding process and selection of a building contractor.

  • Oversee all construction activities, ensuring compliance with design plans and quality standards.

  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.

  • Administer the post-contract/construction phase of the project, testing, commissioning, and eventual handover of the building.

Submission Requirements


We request all interested architectural firms to submit the following documents as part of their Expression of Interest:

 


Part A



  • Company profile highlighting their firm's experience and expertise.

  • Portfolio showcasing relevant past projects to include descriptions, photographs, and any relevant awards or recognitions.

  • Preliminary project schedule.

  • A preliminary cost estimate or budget proposal for the project.

  • Essential personnel qualifications, experience, and roles.

  • A statement of the firm's financial stability and capacity to undertake the project.

  • Confirmation of up-to-date payment of tax obligations.



Part B



  • Drawings (architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical).

  • Proposed approach and design concept for the project.

  • Bill of Quantity with the estimated quantities and prices.

  • A construction contract with all the required terms and conditions upon country standards and building codes.

Document Pickup Dates start from October 23, 2023.

  • Bid documents are free with no cost attached.

  • Only hard-copy submissions will be accepted. No-bid documents will be received after the stipulated end date and time.



Submission Deadline


All bids must be submitted to the House No. F25, 8B Abafun Crescent, Labone, Accra, Ghana, no later than November 30, 2023, at 4 p.m.


 


Bid Opening Process


The bid opening process will occur on December 1, 2023, at 10 a.m. at the House No. F25, 8B Abafun Crescent, Labone, Accra, Ghana. All bidders and their representatives are welcome to attend. Bids will be opened publicly and in the presence of all interested parties.




Review and Selection



  • Our selection committee will review all submitted proposals diligently through Part A and Part B.

  • Shortlisted firms will be invited for interviews, site visits, and presentations.

  • The successful bid will be selected to proceed with contracting.
