Job Description
A reputable manufacturing company is looking to employ a qualified Welder:
Job Purpose
Fabricate and assemble metal structures and equipment through the use of cutters, shapers and other measuring tools
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and measurements to plan layouts.
- Weld small and large components such as copper plumbing, beams, and pipelines.
- Use specialized machinery for industrial welding and oversee machines that perform the same job.
- Maintain and repair all machinery.
- Assess welded surfaces, structures and components to identify errors.
- Follow and enforce strict safety regulations such as wearing heat-resistant gloves, protective masks, and safety shoes.
- Monitor machinery for appropriate usage and temperature.
- Weld components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions.
Required Skills or Experience
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION
- Three years' welding experience or Completion of a three year technical training program in welding.
- Any equivalent combination of experience or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities of welding works have been achieved.
TECHNICAL
- Knowledge of related tools, steel-bending techniques, equipment and materials to be used
- Skills in the construction, alteration, repair, and maintenance of steel structures and surfaces.
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to promote the company’s brand image onsite
- Ability to make innovations, which affect this job and suggest changes to the immediate supervisor that is necessary to ensure efficiency and meeting of set goals
- Ability to solve problems
- Ability to manage time effectively and multi-task
PERSONALITY
- Ability to apply logical and critical thinking skills to steel bending
- Great written and verbal communication skills.
- A willingness to learn.
