  • LOCATION: SPINTEX ROAD, ACCRA



 



ABOUT THE ROLE 

The Security Specialist is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of an organization's assets, personnel, and information. They develop and implement security protocols, conduct risk assessments, monitor security systems, and respond to security incidents. 

The Security Specialist collaborates with cross-functional teams to create and maintain a secure environment and mitigate potential threats.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Develop and implement security policies and procedures to safeguard the organization's assets and personnel.

  • Conduct risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend appropriate security measures.

  • Monitor security systems, including CCTV cameras, access control systems, and alarms, to detect and respond to security breaches.

  • Investigate security incidents, gather evidence, and prepare incident reports.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as IT, HR, and facilities management, to ensure the implementation of security measures and best practices.

  • Stay updated on current security trends, emerging threats, and industry best practices to proactively identify potential risks and vulnerabilities.

  • Conduct security awareness training for employees to promote a culture of security and compliance.

  • Coordinate with external security vendors and service providers to ensure the effectiveness of security systems and protocols.

  • Maintain and update security documentation, including policies, procedures, and emergency response plans.

  • Assist in the development and execution of business continuity and disaster recovery plans.

  • Conduct periodic audits and inspections to ensure compliance with security policies and regulations.

  • Provide security-related advice and guidance to management and employees.



As a Specialist:


As a Security Specialist, you will be expected to demonstrate expertise in security concepts, technologies, and practices. You will be responsible for analyzing complex security issues, recommending solutions, and implementing security measures to protect the organization's assets. Additionally, you will collaborate with various departments to ensure compliance with security policies and regulations.


 


QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Ensure that the Department’s processes are delivering their intended outputs and reviewing all necessary documentation.

  • Reporting on the performance of the quality management system, and on opportunities for improvement to top management

  • Ensuring the promotion of customer focus throughout the organization

  • Review of documentation with respect to the QMS



OHSE RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Knowledge of and adherence to all TAGG’s OHS&E procedures 

  • Follow all safe work procedures, rules, and instructions

  • Risk Assessment 

  • Hazard identification and reporting

  • Knowledge on the safe use of all tools and equipment as applicable




Required Skills or Experience


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES



  • In-depth knowledge of security principles, practices, and technologies.

  • Familiarity with security standards, regulations, and best practices.

  • Proficiency in conducting risk assessments and implementing risk mitigation strategies.

  • Experience in using and managing security systems, such as video surveillance, access control, and intrusion detection systems.

  • Strong investigative skills and the ability to gather and analyze evidence related to security incidents.

  • Knowledge of security-related laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.

  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities to address security vulnerabilities and incidents.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Ability to stay updated on emerging security threats, trends, and technologies.

  • Familiarity with business continuity and disaster recovery planning.

  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate security documentation.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE




  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field is preferred.

  • Typically, 3-5 years of relevant experience in a security-related role

  • Relevant certifications
