Roles and Responsibilities




FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT DUTIES


 


1. Budgets



  • You shall propose quarterly budgets for consideration and approval by the directors; and shall be responsible for effective implementation of budgets. You shall also propose budget amendments when necessary and shall seek directors’ approval before implementation.



2. Taxation 



  • You shall be responsible for the company’s tax planning and tax compliance activities. You shall make proposals on your tax opinion for consideration and approval by directors. You shall also provide professional guidance to management in the resolution of tax disputes.



3. Management of Receivables and Payables



  • You shall be responsible for crafting strategies for the effective recovery of company receivables whilst still maintaining good relationship with clients. 

  • You shall also be responsible for effective management of company’s payables making sure that the company keeps a good credit-worthiness position with suppliers and service providers.



4. Viable Ventures



  • You shall continually propose to management/directors how you intend to keep company business operations and ventures within reasonable profitable limits. This shall include your opinion and proposals on cost control mechanisms, effective pricing/quotation mechanism, cost structure management, and advising directors on how to make and maintain reasonable returns on operations.



ADMINISTRATIVE MANAGEMENT DUTIES


1. Administrative Policies and Procedures



  • You shall be required to draft suitable administrative policies and procedures for consideration and approval by directors; and you shall be key in the implementation of such policies and procedures upon approval.



2. Production and Services Delivery




  • You shall liaise with the Workshop Foreman and Production Foreman for effective production and installation planning and execution for each contract awarded and you shall continually update management/directors on production and installation progress made.



OTHER RELEVANT REQUIREMENTS


 


1. Reporting Responsibilities



  • You are directly accountable to the directors (the Managing Director and Deputy Managing Director) 



2.Confidentiality Requirement



  • Your position is a sensitive one. As a result, utmost confidentiality of company information is required from you.



ACCOUNTING DUTIES



  • Properly keep all source documents including Receipts, Invoices, Payment Vouchers, Bank Statements, etc. for quick references and for audit purposes;

  • Prepare, using excel spread sheets, all necessary Ledger Accounts including Cashbooks, Sales Accounts, Purchases Accounts, Expenses Accounts, Petty Cashbooks, Debtors Accounts, Creditors Accounts, Assets Ledger, Stocks Ledgers, 

  • Will be responsible for the effective administration of budgets, fully taking into consideration budgeted expenditure, agreed Debtors Collection Period, Creditors Payments Plans, Stocks levels, etc.;

  • Prepare Employee Payroll including Income tax schedule for payments to the Ghana Revenue Authority, Tier 1 and Tier 2 Social Security Contributions to the Social Security and National Insurance Trust and Glico Insurance Company respectively, and generated staff pay slips.

  • Prepare monthly Reconciliation Statements including Bank Reconciliation Statements, Debtors, Reconciliation, Creditors Balance Reconciliation, and Stock Reconciliation Statements;

  • Shall be responsible for the company’s tax planning and compliance activities.




Required Skills or Experience



  • Bsc, CA preferred

  • Advanced Excel is a must
