A well established hotel in Sierra Leone is seeking a hands-on Front Desk Manager.



Reporting to the Managing Director, the Front Desk Manager will be responsible for day-to-day operations of the front desk. The ideal candidate must be enthusiastic and guest focused.



The Front Desk Manager will assist in the planning, direction, coordination, and execution of all activities and personnel within the front office departments. He/she is responsible for ensuring that all front office activities are carried out professionally, to standards, and at the highest level of service and will achieve desired outcomes by assisting in the creation, development, and maintenance of competent, motivated, and empowered staff.

In addition to front office management responsibilities, the Front Desk Manager will be a part of the company's management team. This would include active participation in strategic planning meetings and determining company policies.



Duties & responsibilities include, but are not limited to:




  1. Leadership / Mentoring role for Hotel's Front Office employees. Maintain complete knowledge of all Front Office department policies/service procedures.

  2. Promotes positive customer relations for all customers by providing prompt, courteous, and efficient service.

  3. Resolves customer complaints in a manner that promotes positive customer relations.

  4. Maintain complete knowledge of all hotel features and services, all room types, rates, special packages, and promotions, daily arrivals/departures/room availability, scheduled in-house group activities.

  5. Review and respond to daily operational demands as it relates to the hotel.

  6. Create and maintain a quality, professional work environment.

  7. Administer performance evaluations for all departmental employees.

  8. Anticipate guests' and employees' needs and respond promptly.




Required Skills or Experience



  • The successful applicant must have a minimum of 3 years experience and/or management training in Hotel Operations related to Front Desk Management for a small to mid-size hotel.

  • Strong computing skills in Word, Excel and property management systems are required.

  • Experience with managing OTAs will be a definite asset. Suitable candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and strong proficiency in English language.
