Job Description


Agresearch Lead is currently seeking the services of enumerators to conduct quantitative data collection in the Ashanti region of Ghana.



Overall assignment Purpose

The assignment seeks to conduct quantitative endline survey of Child Labour prevalence in Ghana targeting households, children in cocoa growing areas in 28 cocoa communities, this assignment would be used as part a broader impact study to understand the impact of an intervention called a Child Labour Monitoring and Remediation System. The team shall engage head of households or spouses, children aged 5-17 within sampled households and community leaders in selected cocoa areas in Ghana.



Key stakeholders; Households, children and communities




  • Job Title: Field enumerators and supervisors

  • Job Location: Ashanti region.

  • Project Areas: Bekwai A, Nsokote A, Bekwai B, Asanti Akim South

  • Languages: Ashanti/Twi



He/she should able to:




  • Participate in training and piloting of instruments

  • Collect quantitative data collection in cocoa growing areas

  • Review of data by enumerator and supervisor before submitting

  • Available to respond to data quality concerns

  • Would be required to participate in periodic meetings and submit daily reports to supervisors.

  • Would be required to refer children at risk during data collection using appropriate referral protocols



 




Required Skills or Experience



  • Minimum of a Degree or Diploma in Social Sciences or any related course.

  • Must be coming from one of the project districts

  • Experienced working with children would be an asset

  • Experience in collecting quantitative data using Tablets

  • Experienced in community entries and exits

  • Team player

  • Experienced working in cocoa growing areas

  • Experience in working on child protection related assignments is an asset

  • Understand and speak these local languages (Ashanti/Twi)
