PURPOSE OF THE JOB 


To manage and oversee the tax, external compliances and accounting functions.


 


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Accounting (30%)




  • Responsible for assigned accounting transactions in our system and ensure the correctness of imputation,

  • Prepares payments after verifying all the required documentation and requesting approval for disbursements,

  • Perform periodical accounting closing,

  • Follow the accounting procedures and rules of the Ghana, in order to assure that the information presented in the financial reports is correct,

  • The compliance of invoices, salaries is verified according to the procedures, and their timely payment is assured,

  • Ensure the daily management of banking relations,

  • Ensure a quarterly update of asset inventory,

  • Support to internal and external audits,

  • May carry out some administrative and logistics task (Transport, procurement, bookings,…)

  • Assist in budgets preparation, reviews and monitoring.



Taxation (40%)




  • Prepare tax declaration and social contributions to GRA,…and pay them timely;

  • Manage and facilitate controls for tax authorities and administrators;

  • Generate the annual financial statements and have them filed within acceptable legal timelines

  • Manage the tax audits.



OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Recovery, Stock, AR, Fleet and fuel management (30%)




  • Ensure recovery is done daily and no delays on cash receipts from customers.

  • Ensure significant accounts are closely managed and mitigate any risks around them.



SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES




  • Supervision of all accountants

  • Assist in monitoring the use of cash and archive properly and efficiently/effectively.



GENERAL DUTIES

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS




  • Tax and finance compliances : zero incompliances (VAT, CIT, SSNIT, WHT, PAYE,…)

  • Accounting compliances with internal and external requirements

  • Recovery and costs control, and clean balance sheets

  • Any other business requirements that the line manager/director will entrust to the employee





Required Skills or Experience


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATION



  • Have a minimum of five (5) years of relevant professional experience in areas relevant to the assignment;

  • Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards and International Standards on Auditing;

  • Analytical capabilities and skills to deal with financial management issues, especially in advising applicants and recipients on the design and implementation of acceptable financial management systems;

  • Excellent organizational skills; ability to prioritize own work program and ability to deliver assignments in a timely and efficient manner;

  • Very good interpersonal skills; ability to establish and maintain effective working relations in a multicultural environment

  • High computer skills (MS Office package)

  • Competence in the use of Accounting Softwares, and ability to help organize data and information retrieval systems; knowledge of QUICKBOOKS and SAP ERP is desirable.



EXPERIENCE




  • Plus 5 years’ experience in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related discipline.




  • A professional accounting certification/qualification (CPA, CA, ACCA or equivalent) would be a plus;





KNOWLEDGE




  • Bachelor's Degree + 5 years’ experience in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related discipline.




  • A professional accounting certification/qualification (CPA, CA, ACCA or equivalent) would be a plus;

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
