Job Description

A performance driven Non-Bank Financial Institution seek to recruit an experienced, knowledgeable and passion driven young individual for the role of Junior Lawyer



This role requires the efficient running of the department & the provision of legal advisory services. 

As the Head, Legal the candidate should be able to:

  • Liaise with external lawyers and update Management accordingly on all ongoing litigation cases.

  • Review and provide legal advice on credit risk documents.

  • Prepare, review and modify contractual instruments to assist and support business activities.

  • Liaise with relevant departments to identify risk and take appropriate actions to litigate such risks.  

  • Interpret legal information and disseminate appropriate legal requirement to staff.

  • Review and draft contracts, agreements & internal policies and ensure that they are in compliance with all statutory requirements.

  • Vet, approve, draw up all kinds of standard and non-standard forms and documents for the Company including Loan Agreements, Security Sharing Agreements, Tenancy Agreements, Assignments, Mortgages, and Hypothecations etc. and ensure that all documents and agreements afforded the company the best possible protection at law.

  • Render opinions on all legal issues arising in the course of business.

  • Liaise with external lawyers

  • Assist Company Secretary to organize Board and Board Committee meetings.

Required Skills or Experience


  • At least 3 years work experience ideally in a financial institution.

  • Must have successfully managed a team of at least three (3) achieving set periodic targets.


  • An LLB/BL undergraduate degree from a reputable University 

  • A post graduate degree will be an added advantage
