Key Responsibilities




  • Strategically manages and coordinates the business operations, warehouse and production development processes and systems of the company to achieve profitable growth.

  • Oversees the operations of the organization to meet business goals and projections

  • Enforces and evaluates processes for receiving products, equipment utilization and inventory management.

  • Designs, develops and implements operations and warehouse policies and practices as well as keeps proper operational records for cost-effective operations of the company.

  • Establishes robust and consistent data management systems for proper recording and reporting as well as data sharing and information flow to efficiently protect, speed and smoothen operational processes.

  • Tracks, monitors and evaluates performance and outputs of Units and staff to ensure attainment of Company’s yearly objective and benchmarks.

  • Prepares and provides weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual operational and warehouse reports to the General Manager.

  • Adheres to due process and compliance with legal issues, warehouse regulatory procedures and other statutory and corporate governance requirements.

  • Participates in weekly meetings with the General Manager

  • Continuously reviews and improves the operational, warehouse and production systems, processes and policies in line with industry best practices and standards in a way and manner that continue to protect the health and life of assets of the company at all times.

  • Collaborates closely with the General Manager and produces reports on company operations.

  • Empowers the operational team with the leadership and resources they need to successfully complete operations initiatives through discussion on their portfolios

  • Positively represents the company at all times through a success-oriented and professional demeanor

  • Partners with other management team members to accomplish short and long-term operational goals

  • Measures and reports on operational performance and develops plans to improve relevant key performance indicators

  • Develops warehouse design by planning layout, product flow, and product handling systems, evaluating and recommending new and better ways.

  • Develops warehouse operations system and improvements by analysing process work flow, manning and space requirements, and equipment layout.

  • Undertakes any other duties and assignments as may be directed by the General Manager and or the Company’s Managing Director


Supervisory Roles




  • Supervises the immediate subordinates to ensure that time, quality and other set standards are achieved timeously.

  • Appraises the performance of immediate team members and identify and recommend appropriate skills-development and training needs for them.

  • Administers rewards and sanctions, as evidently established, to immediate team members in accordance with the company’s disciplinary code and procedure.

  • Supervises to inspire through coaching, mentoring, counselling and discipline.




Required Skills or Experience




  • A Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Management, Logistics, Supply Chain or related areas from a recognize University

  • Membership of a recognized professional Management body e.g. CIA, CIAMC, CBOMS, CBOP, APICS, CSCMP, IWLA or its equivalent

  • Fifteen (15) years’ industry experience of which two or three years must have been in a managerial position

  • Familiarity with the operational procedures at all levels of the organization

  • Ability to inspire employees to live up to their potential and optimize their productivity

  • Knowledge of the Management operations laws

  • Ability to understand operational concepts and principles

  • Ability to determine budget projections and forecasts

  • Ability to design and implement operational processes and systems

  • Ability to analyse information and process data

  • Ability to effectively deal with complex issues
