Job Description

A reputable Health Food Services and Production Company is looking for a self driven and dedicated Kitchen Staff

Position Summary

The incumbent will:

1. Be part of kitchen staff to under take food preparation


2. Assist with any other basic food prep duties required as per recipes for daily orders


3. Perform basic/general cleaning duties and any food service if required


4. Undertake the above duties working on a shift basis and any other duties as requested by management.


5. Work effectively by laying out items to be used in the work area, assemble and prepare items n a logical manner so there is easy flow from storage areas, to prep and into final customer service. In addition, he/she must remove all waste after each item of preparation and fully clean down surfaces and materials as per the legal requirements laid down by the Food and Drugs Authority.


6. Must decide the best use of stock items and carry out stock rotation based on a FIRST-IN-FIRST-OUT BASIS or closest in expiration date rotation.


7. Regularly use best judgement on the quantity and quality of food being prepared and refer to supervisors/managers for any area of uncertainty.


8. After on the job training, there is an expectation of an ability to learn through experience and training given that the role involves the operation and cleaning of some very technical and expensive cooking equipment as well as how to deal or handle high risk food and areas of high cross contamination.


9. Responsible for controlling food wastage

Required Skills or Experience

1. Must be an SHS leaver


2. Must be computer literate


3. Must have the ability to handle cash (Cashiering)


4. Must look presentable as a Waiter/Waitress


5. Must be between the ages of 23 and 30
