Job Description

• To provide health care to patients/clients and appropriately refer when necessary by participating as a member of the Medical Team in providing care as well as monitoring and evaluating patients/clients. The position holder would also collaborate with other disciplines and health care staff to ensure optimum care for clients/patients including quality improvement activities

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide out-patients care and refer appropriately  


• Provide emergency care and refer appropriately  


• Assess and implement management plan for patients


• Undertake out-of-hours duties as specified by Hospital Management


• Assist/perform surgical operations/clinical procedures within competency 


• Appropriately refer patients outside competency


• Provide support and information to patients / relatives as and when necessary.


• Perform bedside investigations such as RBS, FBS, urine analysis


• Conduct/participate in:
  
  
  
  • Ward Rounds
  
  
  • Clinical meetings
  
  
  • Morbidity/mortality meetings
  
  
  • Clinico-Pathological conferences
  
  
  • Journals’ clubs 
  
  
  • General staff meetings etc
  
  
  
  


• Constantly update knowledge


• Provide in-patient care 


• Accurately and legibly record patients’ care and management packages. 

Required Skills or Experience

• MB, ChB, MD, DBS or its equivalent


• Registered with the Medical and Dental Council and in good standing


• At least one (1) year post qualification experience
