Job Description


The organisation seeks, in accordance with its constitution, to recruit dynamic and self-motivated persons to handle the affairs of its secretariat.



THE POSITION: Finance and Administrative Assistant (3 days a week)



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES




  • Manage the day to day operation of the secretariat

  • Create and keep a good filing system for the organization

  • Update financial spreadsheets with project as well as other transactions

  • Track bank statements and carry out bank reconciliations

  • Create monthly reports for of the Board of Directors

  • Prepare monthly payroll and statutory payments and ensure the latter are paid on time.

  • Maintain cash and petty cash accounts and ensure they are up to date.

  • Process invoices and payments that have been authorized by the board for goods and services procured.

  • Prepare a quarterly Income Statement and Statement of Financial position of the organization.

  • Prepare monthly budget V expenditure and variations report for the board

  • Shall work hand in hand with the Coordinator for an efficient and effective running of the Secretariat



Position Duration

The position is for 1 year in the first instance and may be renewed subject to satisfactory performance.




Required Skills or Experience



  • Must possess a minimum of HND in Accounting and Finance

  • 3+years working in an accounting department with proven experience as a Finance or Accounts Officer and familiar with Accounting rules, procedures, practices and foreign exchange accounting

  • Have excellent written and verbal  communication and interpersonal skills

  • Must have skills in respect of attention to details

  • Must have very excellent skills in  Excel and PowerPoint and good skills in word

  • Previous experience working with producer organisations  and a project environment will be an added advantage
