A small reputable Women-led Non-Governmental Organisation dedicated in advancing Women Rights and Agency in Society at large seeks to recruit qualified applicants to occupy the position of Programme Coordinator.

 




  • Reports to: Chairperson, Board of Trustee

  • Employment Status: One year Contract, (40 hours/week)

  • Job Location: Tamale



 



Summary of Position

The Project Coordinator is responsible for the overall management and implementation of the project in accordance with the agreements with partners and donors including the project documents. He or she will work to strengthen Networking and Partnership Building for WOSAG

He or she will provide leadership and technical direction to the project by coordinating, directing, organizing project activities and will be responsible for providing technical advice to the project team and partners.



Key Responsibilities




  • Support planning and coordination of a program and its activities

  • Prepares or assist in the preparation of proposals for funding or continuation of funding from outside sponsors

  • Lead WOSAG to secure funding and partnerships both local and international

  • Creates strategic partnerships with stakeholders on national and local level and other partner programmes.

  • Promote and advocate for project in the media

  • Support to conduct regular project stakeholder meetings

  • Lead the development of quarterly, half-yearly and annual work plans and reports to project stakeholders

  • Assist the director of WOSAG in capacity building training for staff on leadership and project management

  • Collaborate with partners, donor and stakeholder representatives to build and maintain productive relationships.

  • Undertake regular review of project schedules, deliverables in implementation plan and keep project stakeholders informed

  • Oversee and monitor workplans and budgets for all project activities

Required Qualification and Experience




  • Minimum qualification of an advance degree in a relevant discipline (Gender, development, social studies or related fields preferred) with Five years minimum in a similar position

  • Bachelor degree (10 year experience minimum in a similar position) 

  • Experience working with women

  • Sound experience in fundraising, project management and implementation

  •  years minimum in a similar position

  • Experience working with women



Technical:




  • Extensive financial management and accounting experience, covering policies and procedures and reporting- procedural audit and/or business analysis experience would be an advantage.

  • Knowledge of best practice in financial and accounting processes.

  • Some knowledge of financial management systems and exposure to business analysis, business process design- exposure to financial management systems design or development at the implementation stage would be advantageous.

  • Intermediate level knowledge of MS Office application, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Knowledge of accounting software will be advantageous.

  • Sound organizational and time management skills, preferably with some project management skills.
