Job Description


Agrihouse Foundation seeks to have an individual fill the position of  Public Relations (PR) & Media Strategist.  Much as qualification(s) are important, it is not restrictive, as this role needs a passionate driven person, with the drive for writing and an appetite for social media and digital communication.



Role




  • The PR & Media Strategist is responsible for contributing extensively to building and maintaining a good corporate image by developing and executing effective communication and media relations strategies for the company and its clients.

  • Develop events, media relations, and marketing communications plan including strategy, goals, budget, and tactics that seek to build and maintain a strong corporate image through high-level placements in print, broadcast, and online media as well as other relevant media.

  • Organize and coordinate all public relations activities on the Company’s behalf to ensure the company protects and promotes its image in a proper, coordinated, and consistent manner.

  • Optimize internal and external communication systems to enhance the accuracy of communication through proper channels.

  • Be able to use and update the company website and all social media platforms regularly

  • Assist to manage all aspects of the brand’s relationship with the public including managing public and media inquiries and interview requests.

  • Direct social media teams to engage audience across traditional and new media, to create and maintain a strong online presence for the Company.

  • Leverage existing media relationships and cultivate new contacts within the business and media industry.

  • Create content for press releases, online and print articles, keynote presentations, and all other public addresses for the Company as well as represent and/or speak on behalf of the Company where and when appropriate.

  • Support in the creating of content and in coordinating radio jingles, LPMs, TV adverts, documentaries, etc

  • Monitor, analyze, and communicate Public Relations results to Management quarterly and as requested.

  • Evaluate opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships, and advertising on an on-going basis for the Company.

  • Build and leverage relationships with thought leaders to grow industry awareness

  • Maintain a keen understanding of industry trends affecting clients and make appropriate recommendations regarding communication strategy relative to such trends.

  • Organize promotional events such as press conferences, open days, exhibitions, tours, and visits for the Company.

  • Detect Public Relations issues that may emerge and act proactively to address them directly.

  • Review the current profile that defines the scope and focus of the Company’s business, including identified market segments and market penetration strategies to enable it to compete favourably.

  • Leverage  Corporate Values to cultivate client relationships

  • Effectively use membership and participation in industry associations and community to increase the company's brand awareness.

  • Use effective and innovative strategies as well as proactive crisis management techniques to protect the reputation of the company at all times

  • Assist in driving thoughtful strategy, detailed planning, and disciplined execution of initiatives while delivering superior client service and achieving business objectives.




Required Skills or Experience


Candidate must have:




  • Diploma/BA in Communications Studies

  • Diploma/BA in Broadcast Journalism

  • Minimum 3- years of working experience
