Vacancy: School Head (Fashion)

Job Description

As a fashion designer, you'll research current fashion trends, forecasting what will be popular with consumers, and take inspiration from the world around you to create fresh and original designs. May also teach a fashion course which includes introduction to fashion design, fashion history, apparel construction, pattern making and textiles. event and fashion show production, merchandising, fashion trends and digital design. Other job duties include putting together lesson plans, evaluating students, keeping office hours and participating in school functions as needed.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day to day running of the school (Students & Teachers)


• Projecting the vision of the school and managing the relationship with the wider community


• Administrative management


• Teaching, supervising and also sewing


• Design, develop and deliver a range of programmes of study (sometimes for entirely new courses) at various levels. (Work hand in hand with all teachers and other heads)


• Review on a regular basis course content and materials, updating when required.


• Develop and apply appropriate teaching techniques and material which create interest,understanding and enthusiasm amongst students.


• Ensure that course design and delivery comply with the quality standards regulations of the university and department.


• Bring out creative ideas to put the school at the fore front and bring additional income to the school. (Liaise with the Brand Manager and other heads)

Required Skills or Experience

Education and Qualifications

• A Degree in Fashion


• fashion experience (at least 4-5 years)

Skills and Interests

• Proven success in the fashion Industry


• Able to make effective presentations or demonstrations


• Able to prioritize work in multi-tasking environment


• Able to meet deadlines and follow up on commitments


• Strong selling and sales aptitude


• Effective verbal, written and presentation skills


• Knowledge of the market, (particularly the mining sector) industry research and customer feedback trends


• Customer focused and paying attention to detail
