Job Purpose



Embark on cocoa agronomy and extension, services & production, coordination of farmers’ activities, certification, purchases, field data collection, surveying, CAPS registration and Education, input distribution, credit recoveries and community relationship activities in the field.



Reports to: Regional Manager



Key Relationship: Work closely with the CAA farmers, M&E Coordinator and Officers, Operations Manager, LBCs and all departments within the CAA. 



Duties & Responsibilities




  • Regular farmers’ sensitization on all CAA programmes

  • Farmer Group registration and contracts management

  • Inputs distribution management

  • Loans recovery and credit management

  • Sensitize, educate, and register farmers on CAPS

  • Ensure yearly contributions to CAPS by all registered members

  • Train farmers and ensure farm visits and demonstrations are conducted

  • Collaborate with ABL and ROCO to ensure all CAA members’ cocoa beans are purchased

  • Ensuring members are in compliance with our certification standards.

  • Mapping of cocoa farms

  • Educate farmers on the essence of mapping

  • Preparation and presentation of Weekly Itinerary to your Supervisor

  • Yield data collection from some selected cocoa farmers

  • Effectively train, inspect, supervise and monitor all members, collectors and employees of Licensed Buying Companies(LBC) on certification, business skills and the internal standards of CAA to ensure compliance and retaining of UTZ and Rainforest Alliance Certificates during the External Audit.

  • Conduct Internal Inspection and Internal Data verification

  • Preparation and submission of weekly, monthly and quarterly reports




Required Skills or Experience



  • A good first degree from a recognized University in Agriculture/Agronomy.

  • At least 2 years working experience in Agriculture/Cocoa Sector.

  • Strong leadership and presentation skills

  • Desire and ability to remain updated with new agricultural trends and technology

  • Demonstrate skills in sales &marketing

  • Should be extensively knowledgeable in modern Extensions & Agricultural practices, strong field work ethic and well-versed in field extension activities. 

  • Ability to work for long hours and meet deadlines.

  • Ability to adopt an assertive but respectful attitude towards farmers to ensure they do what is needed.

  • Multitasking

  • Ability to work independently and constructively to meeting targets set in the PMS

  • Well-versed in field related activities bordering on farmers’ issues such as Pruning, soil management, cultivation practices, input application etc.

  • Strong project management skills and community adaptation, rural & community

  • Excellent IT Skills

  • Ability to ride a motorbike with a valid Ghanaian riding license.
